What is BelongCon?
The Belonging Conversation – or BelongCon for short – is a series of events, meet-ups, and discussions all about community, acceptance, and belonging. At our live events we welcome a diverse panel of up to seven speakers who will talk for up to ten minutes about their experiences, personal missions, and the positive changes they’re making in the world. Each event finishes with a Q&A in which we invite the audience to join the conversation. The aim of each event is to inspire and empower everyone who comes along to make a difference to something they feel passionately about.
When is the next event?
The next BelongCon will take place in Brighton on Tuesday 6th June 2017, from 6pm-9pm at The Brighthelm Centre (close to Brighton Station & North Laine). This event is part of the official Global Sharing Week events programme, in partnership with The People Who Share.
Where can I get my ticket?
Where did the idea come from?
Recently I’ve had many conversations with people who are feeling disempowered and disheartened given what’s going on in the world right. While there are many people finding strength as they take on global and personal battles, on the other side of the coin some of the most positive people I know are feeling hopeless, and unsure as to how they can make a difference. I wanted to organise a movement for those of us who want to do something, who want to bring about positive change, to hear from people who are out there right now making a difference in the world starting with their own communities, whether that’s through campaigning, volunteering, mentoring, or challenging peoples’ perceptions.
