Jo Ivens is Chief Executive Officer of Impetus, an award-winning Brighton & Hove charity that works to tackle the often invisible issues of loneliness and isolation in the community.
The True Value Of Helping Others
At BelongCon, Jo will talk about her own experiences of belonging, from her childhood in rural Norfolk to working with people with sensory impairments and improving quality of care in an Australian hospital, to work at Brighton & Hove Impetus connecting and supporting isolated people within the city. Jo will explore how being part of something helps us feel better, and how we value helping others in a world where too often cost/benefit analysis is prized over our individual feelings.
